華盛頓郵報5/5/09報導，美國有第二個H1N1流感病故案例，如下：
Officials Confirm Second U.S. Swine Flu Death

Health authorities today reported a second death in the United States from swine flu -- a woman in south Texas -- even as the federal government rescinded its recommendation that schools shut down if they have any suspected cases of the virus. Earlier, the government reported that the number of confirmed swine flu cases across the nation now exceeds 400 in 38 states.

美國一般大眾相信H1N1已經不是威脅，但是美國政府公開呼籲尚未脫離危險。目前美國已在38個州有400個H1N1的病例。


紐約時報5/4/09報導
Health officials said there were 226 cases of swine flu in 30 states, with more expected to turn up in additional states in the next few days.
意思是，美國已經有30州有H1N1的疫情，共有226個病例。

我經常在比較各知名大學網頁對社會的功用。這次的H1N1流感，我在臺大網站的首頁上看到它確有提醒大眾「預防H1N1(新型流感),請隨時注意疾管局網頁」，這點說明了臺大比較用心。
所以我也上美國知名大學的網頁查看，發現哈佛是最認真的，它應該是每個上班日都更新。它最新的訊息如下：

Update on H1N1 influenza
Classes and clinical activities at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine will be suspended through May 6 because of a cluster of nine possible cases of H1N1 influenza in the Dental School student population.

The new strain of influenza appears to have emerged in Mexico and as of Friday evening there had been 331 confirmed cases in 11 countries from New Zealand to the U.S. There are 141 laboratory-confirmed cases in 19 U.S states, including six in Massachusetts.

To avoid contracting illness, HUHS advises all members of the Harvard community to:
1. Practice good hygiene. Wash your hands often with soap and water. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
2. Cover your nose and mouth when you cough. Use and dispose of tissues or cough/sneeze into the crook in your elbow.
3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
4. Avoid close contact with sick people.

這段公告裡有些非常值得我們留意的訊息：
(2)咳嗽時用衛生紙，蓋住你的口和鼻子。如果沒有衛生紙，咳嗽或打噴嚏要用你的手肘彎處，也就是用你的衣袖。
(3)(手)千萬不要碰到你的眼睛、鼻子和嘴巴。

「Where there is a house, there is happiness.」
這算是我快樂哲學的哲學彥語。

傅培榮教授的大作「生活有哲學」書名正好印証了我這句話。
